Take your door design to the next level with our range of glass. The style you choose, whether it be simple or ornate, can completely change the overall appearance of your door. We have many styles to suit your taste, aesthetic, and budget. We have an array of traditional styles, modern and contemporary styles, and a plain option too. Each door has unique designs specific to the door style, where as most are available throughout the entire range. Our glass range is available to browse in step 4 of our door builder.
Some of our glass designs will have an option for a backing glass. This is a clear or obscured unit which goes on the inside of your door. If the glass you choose has a backing glass option, once you select your design you will be prompted to select a style.
Each unit of glass we supply is either double glazed, or depending on the design, some are triple glazed. This type of glass is sometimes referred to as insulated glazing. The science behind double glazing is simple. An air gap is created in-between two panes of glass, this air gap stops heat escaping either in or out of your home, depending on the time of year. In the winter, it stops heat escaping, and in the summer during hot weather, it limits the heat entering your home. Double glazed windows are up to 100% more efficient than single glazing.
As well as thermally efficient, double, and triple glazing is also acoustically efficient too. Double glazed widows can reduce noise levels by up to 31 Decibels. This means that the glass you choose in your new door will not just look great, your home will be more thermally efficient and soundproof too.
One of the most important features of our glass is that it is toughened security glass, this is standard for all doors. Toughened glass is also known as Security Glass or Tempered Glass. Toughened glass is heated to 290° C for several hours, this process makes the glass incredibly strong. This heating process means that if the glass was to be subject to a high-pressure impact, the unit breaks into small granular pieces, and it does not break into shards or have any jagged edges, reducing any risks to a minimum. In comparison to standard glass, toughened glass is around five times stronger.
Toughened glass will also be included in any side panels, top lights or flag windows that may be included with your new door, if you require them. All glass units for these are available in clear or patterned glass. We have 18 backing glass designs with different privacy levels, please see the link here to our options.
